These distinctive brushes feature hand-carved, wild verdant white cedar handles with a choice of traditionally harvested deer bristle. Handles are hide-wrapped in one of two colors, white and tan. These brushes are made with care in M'chigeeng First Nation. In a wetted state, the brush can be twisted on the palette to form a rough point, capable of a fine, organic stroke. When wetted and used in its existing shape, you can easily create textures reminiscent of grass, hair strands, woodgrain, or flowing water effects!
Beam Paints is 100% Anishnaabe Kwe owned, and operates––as it always has––on the home reserve of M’Chigeeng First Nation, where the company continues to grow, employing paintmakers and woodworkers, men and women from intersecting Indigenous communities, including M’Chigeeng, Sagamok and Wikwemikong.
