Screen Printing 101 • Session 1 of 2

Bloomington Fine Art Supply and Hideout Press are joining forces to bring you a beginner-friendly (ages 16+) intro to screen printing!

• Cost of admission includes both sessions and all supplies. Additionally, you'll have access to after-hours shopping and receive 10% off any purchases made while on-site for both sessions.

In session 1 (Sunday, 4/14), instructors Rachael and John Keown will introduce you to the screen printing process through hands-on learning as you prep screens for printing, mix inks, rinse screens, and pull your own print of a poster based on bfa.supply’s mural, designed exclusively for this class. Additionally, guests will develop artwork to be utilized the following week.

In session 2 (Sunday, 4/21), we’ll continue our exploration of screen printing, with the class functioning as its own micro-print shop: each guest printing their artwork on a bandana and assisting with various steps of the process as the entire group moves through.

Between sessions 1 and 2, Hideout Press will develop a screen for each guest’s design ensuring optimal results during the second session. On-site, attendees can expect to play an active role in the image-transfer process and gain firsthand experience with all tools and materials.
