Live Model Session: Gesture

Join us on the last Tuesday of each month, from 6-8pm, for an energetic figure drawing session centered on gesture, structure, and the expressive potential of the human form.

Hosted by professional artist and studio manager Rebecca Woodward, the Gesture Series features a clothed live model posing in a sequence of short-duration poses: positions designed to be held briefly and intentionally, rather than sustained for long periods. Artists focus on capturing weight distribution, light, and shadow, rather than spending extended time developing nuanced value scales or visual likeness.

The focus of this series is on economy of line, observation, and responsiveness rather than detailed rendering or costume-driven narrative.

This series is ideal for artists looking to loosen up, build confidence, sharpen observational instincts, or strengthen foundational skills that support figure drawing, illustration, animation, and expressive mark-making.
