What do you create when you capture the present moment through a historical lens? A timeless and meaningful keepsake for the future. Don't miss this chance to develop a lasting treasure that immortalizes a moment shared with loved ones, or celebrates the beauty of being authentically yourself! What to expect: When you arrive for your appointment, photographer and ferrotype extraordinaire Megan Snook will set to work staging your shot, whether you're opting for a group image (up to 5 people), a more stylized individual portrait, or something in-between. Once you/your group and any props you've brought are in position, exposure only takes a brief moment. No need to stay frozen in place for several minutes! Megan will then develop the image on-site utilizing wet plate collodion processing. You'll have a front-row seat––figuratively and literally––to the modern implementation of this century-old process. Once your tintype is developed and ready for pickup, you'll have both an amazing artifact and a cool experience to reflect on! You'll also receive a digital copy of your image for safekeeping.

Cancellation Policy

Event Policies Weaponry Not Permitted Weapons of any kind, regardless of age, decommission, or deactivation status, are not permitted as photo props. Pets Due to the presence of hazardous chemicals and delicate equipment utilized in the tintype proces, pets are not permitted on-site for inclusion in portraits. Age Guidelines While tintypes only require momentary exposure to capture an image, blurring can occur if subjects are not able to remain still for 3-5 seconds. If you are considering incorporating children into your portrait, it's important to realistically evaluate their willingness/ability to remain still for this short period of time. Retake sessions will not be offered. Cancellation Clients may cancel their booking up to one week before the scheduled session date without penalty. Cancellations made less than one week before the session are nonrefundable. Arrivals Guests/parties are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled session. The timeslot you have booked indicates the time your session begins. Please plan to be on-site a few minutes early. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session time. Individuals/groups who arrive 10 minutes or more past the session start time will forfeit their session without refund. Image Delivery Tintypes will be developed on-site, immediately after the image is captured. The physical plate will ready for pickup at Bloomington Fine Art Supply the following business day. Upon pickup, guests will also receive a digital copy of their image. By booking a session, clients agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this policy.
