These chip brushes from Royal & Langnickel (which goes by Royal Brush these days) are an incredible value! They're usable in all the same rough-and-tumble scenarios, and are comparable in price to what you'll find at the hardware store. You'll find, however, that they offer more orderly bristles that are trimmed more evenly than their bargain-bin counterparts.
 
In our experience, the bristles tend to fall out less and are a smidge softer than what we've found at big box stores.
